Wood also returns in the furniture, including in the dining table, the cupboards, and the back wall of the bed. The somewhat worn wood, the dark colours, and the layout of the house are a maximal support to the atmosphere. Interesting choices were made for that layout. Unlike many contemporary interiors, the interior architect decided not to use an open ground plan, but make the rooms rather closed, which perfectly suits the style of this apartment. A number of elements nevertheless ensure sufficient openness. The large windows are one of them, but the fact that the kitchen and living room are on the same axis, so that in one room you still have a view of the other, contributes to a more open effect as well. The glass wall between the bedroom and living room is equally important in this respect. By means of a light curtain, the two spaces can still be separated if desired.
