Wabi-sabi, a Japanese aesthetic centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The beauty of wabi-sabi is sometimes described as imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete. It is a concept derived from the three dharma seals of Buddhism, especially impermanence. The characteristics of wabi-sabi include asymmetry, roughness or irregularity, simplicity, economy, understatement, closeness and display of natural integrity. Wabi-sabi aesthetics is the most significant feature of traditional Japanese aesthetics.
